The trend is clear, public and private tracking of what we do and where we go is becoming increasingly worse and one day, some of us, will want a robust response. Especially anyone in the grey areas between what is legal and what the government would prefer wasn’t.
The concept is a parallel version of our world, only known by those who need to know. Black market but everything and everywhere. A shadow society that exists outside of tracking, taxes and control.
Key elements:
- Cash. Hopefully we end up with anonymous digital cash cards that cost a small premium (cards cost 50c to produce). A trusted player could provide them instead of the government.
- Black Box Buildings. Venues with no tracking, and signals blocked, to guarantee digital privacy inside. The sort of place Taylor Swi ft could hold a wedding.
- Group Accounts / Devices / Transport. 50 people share a thing, and no record is made of who used it and when. For example a rideshare account.
- Address Overlay. A system where addresses are mapped onto the real world, but with different street and city names. Qualified people can enter a obscured address and get the real one. Use something like PGP. If anyone intercepts it, all they can ever learn is that one address, not the system.
- Bartering. Basically tax-free in most places.
- Infrastructure Sabotage. Refer to the current movement of taking down Flock cameras in the US. Enough people taking down such apparatus will always defeat the system because destroying is far cheaper and easier than deploying.
