The Parallel, Duplicitous Existence

There is a way of having two existences:

  • one totally normal for achieving the things you need normally
  • the other just as real, but untraceable

Most people thinking about this don’t go any further than BitCoin and a burner phone. That is because most of the rest requires the trust and cooperation of others.

The trick is to be part of a group in all of your secondary existence. Where tracking cannot pinpoint an individual; only a group.

Shared house – shared address, shared internet… When a letter arrives for Mr XYZ at your address, containing some pharmaceuticals from the Dark Web, who can say who took it and kept it?

When you share an IP address, who was it that visited that website? (just an extra layer of safety, use a VPN obviously).

That marijuana plant in the backyard belongs to who?

Note: a shared house could be numerous apartments with shared facilities…

Shared Social Media – be a crazy collective with a shared interest, and not monitor who said what, when?

Shared subscriptions – library card, public transport card, Uber account… If it has costs, trust is required to top up the account with random but ultimately fair amounts. Shared share car? Shared sports club membership for shared alibi?

Shared burner phone? Probably unnecessary, but could work? Never leaves the shared house. Use it for non-criminal activities like entering contests, or giving someone you are unsure about your phone number.

Yes, ultimately, a commune. I pity the law enforcement who cannot tell who out of a hundred people the evidence points to.

Basically the more share, the more you can deny.
